Electron microscopists from Stockholm University, Uppsala University and KTH, collected under the name of CEM4MAT (Center for electron microscopy for materials science), came to Lund to visit nCHREM and MaxIV facilities in February 2020. It was an opportunity to get to know the people and the equipment at all the different sites, and for some to run a pilot experiment on Lund’s new ETEM.
The cordinators of ARTEMI nodes met in Lund and via Skype during the Swedish Chemical Society’s “Analytical Days” meeting, and discussed plans and activities.
Very good news for TEM infrastructure in Sweden with the announcement that the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research has appointed Per Persson as a Research Infrastructure Fellow (RIF). He will run an “atomic resolution cluster” from Linköping and Lund with Crispin Hetherington as the dedicated staff member in Lund. The project is funded from January 2016 for 5 years and details about how to access these advanced TEM facilities can be found at the ARC website.
The heads of the ARTEMI nodes met on 27 May 2014 in Linköping as part of the planning for the network’s future. From left to right in the photograph are Per Persson (Linköping), Crispin Hetherington (Lund), Gunnar Svensson (Stockholm), Reine Wallenberg (Lund) and Klaus Leifer (Uppsala). Eva Olsson from Chalmers could not attend.
Scandem 2014 took place from 11 to 13 June in Linköping. We took the opportunity to promote ARTEMI and talk to potential users about possible microscopy work at the ARTEMI sites.
Crispin returned to work in Lund on 18 March 2013 following 6 months of paternity leave
Scandem 2013 took place from 12 to 14 June in Copenhagen and ARTEMI-related staff took the chance to hold a few informal meetings about the network.
